If she could just stop growing so quickly, I might have more time to update this blog! haha! Sooo, since we have a very long list of happenings, I will be brief with each. But let me tell you, some of them are sooo funny...I giggle even as I write!
Even though Boo-Boo hasn't had her teeth come in, I have decided to "share" some of my food with her. I let her taste the juice of apple slices, pickles, and such. At first she didn't know what the heck I was offering her, so she did the closed mouth taste test. It only took two mini-tastes before her mouth was wide open each time I offered her anything. In fact, she bit off a piece of my strawberry I gave her to lick. That about scared the daylights out of me! I thought she was surely going to choke, but she did not...much to my relief! Her favorite "adult" food are pickles!!! She cant get enough of them! haha!
Lately, our precious angel has taken to GROWLING at us when she is upset or doesn't want to do what we are doing. For example, getting dressed in the morning she likes to push Mama's buttons and try to roll over. I flip her back where I can finish and the Turkey Growls at me!!! literally, GRrrrrrrrr....hahaha!!!! It is so funny you can't help but laugh. And I'll take growling over those high pitch squeals any day!
Last week, Baby Girl "danced" for us. It is the cutest thing EVER! She sits on her bottom, raises her arms outstretched over her head, and uses her feet to circle all the way around. All this is done with a huge smile on her face, some times as she babbles to herself. She also will spontaneously lift her arms up and giggle or babble or smile periodically throughout the day.
She figured out how to make one of her toys play the song she wants to hear. Just to clarify, this is a toy steering wheel that plays several songs, and not in succession. She will beat the horn until her favorite song comes on, look at us as she loves to have us sing along. If by chance she hits it too many times and misses the song, she will continue to beep the horn until it plays again. It totally cracks me up. One week she could care less, the next she figures out she Likes the songs/toy, she has a favorite song, AND she knows how to get it to play on her own!!! She is so smart...I know I am biased! ;-)
Two days ago Daddy stuck his tongue out at her. She thought it was the silliest thing, but you could tell the wheels in her head were turning. Later that day, she stuck her own tongue out!!!! Since then, she constantly sticks it out. Generally, she has it stuck out the side of her mouth and it curls. I swear it is the cutest thing ever. haha!
Not that the above details has given insight to a rapidly growing girl, but let me tell you...She KNOWS she is a big girl now. While taking a bath, she up and decides to stand up. First, when she did this originally, she would hold onto the side of the tub for leverage. But the other night, she tried to crawl up her daddy (since daddies are nothing but big jungle gyms) while they were taking a bath. She let go of holding onto him and stood straight up for just under a minute (no joke!) not holding onto ANYTHING. We just about fell out! We could not believe what we were witnessing...*sigh*...she is growing up too quickly. The first time she stood up by herself it was at our friend's house Jan 7. She was pushing a wheelie-cart around and for 3 seconds she had let go and was standing upright. It was amazing. But after watching her bath time accomplishment, it took my breath away.
Last, but certainly not least. I had to save the best for last. TODAY our little Sweetness said Da-Da for the first time. I was changing her and she was just babbling away. Of course, her little tongue was sticking out and out of the blue she starts with bdaaa...then she put it together and said Dada...not only did she do that, but she followed it up with Ma-ma....People, I almost cried. What a sweet, most precious moment for us...my only wish is that she will say it to Daddy Bear himself.
We love this kid so very much. I could not have fathomed the intense emotions and unconditional love parents have for their children. What cracks me up is that before Baby I never understood the crazy obsession parents had for their children. It was like they didn't have a life other than their babies. I thought "how weird and strange these people are...don't they have other interests without bringing up their kids???" Hahahaa!!!! I totally get it...well, I don't really, but what I do understand is that it is like a switch in your brain that flips on once that little pea pod comes out...your whole life now revolves around them, whether you intend for it to happen or not. I thought I might include this lovely Mama reflection for you.
We love you all very much,
Mama Bear
