Our dear loved ones,
Please forgive our tardiness in keeping you updated on Boo Bear's grand adventure in this life. Mama Bear has had hardly a minute to even think, much less update our current status. Let me try to catch up to date...it may even have to start backwards!
First and Foremost, our precious Angel is officially a Big Sister!!! Little Brother came this month and we have only been home from the hospital for a day or so. Needless to say, we all are adjusting to the newness of Brother. Firecracker seems to think that she is in charge of swinging him while he is in the swing. Also, she the official bassinet pusher as she pushes his bassinet all over the house to help Mommy. It is a good thing we decided to purchase a new swing just for Brother because she can swing in her own swing without being upset. She doesn't quite understand WHY she can't hold brother or why Mama and Daddy keep telling her to "be gentle" or "no touchy" or "be sweet"...Sheesh, can't they tell I am? haha! One of the biggest issues is that Mama cannot pick up Boo Boo for 6 weeks because of the C section. Both Mama and Baby are sad...we love to snuggle.
Still Running-of course in the last month she has not slowed down one bit. In fact, it is safe to say she is actually getting faster! She can almost outrun her Daddy! Mama calls her Faster than Lightning McQueen. The day before Brother came, we all went to the park to play one last time as the three of us. That Girl ran her daddy to death! She also decided she was big enough that she could go down the slides at the park by herself. In fact, she decided that it was more effective to run down the slide by herself!!! About the scared the pee out of Mommy!!!
Pulls around her wagon-For her birthday Daddy had bought BooBear a wagon filled with building blocks. Since then, her games with them have evolved. Then, it was learning to throw all of the blocks out of the wagon. Next, throw them out and put them back in. Now, either place Dollie and Mickey in the wagon to haul them around the house, or dump them out and get in herself so Daddy can haul her around the house. Mind you, the wagon is actually a decent size that may be difficult for many to maneuver, but not BooBoo...she is strong as an ox! I have to say, even though I am definitely a bias mother, she truly is more athletically inclined. She is super strong, very capable of lifting heavy items, and maneuvering large objects. It is pretty incredible to witness.
Loves blanket surfing-What, may you ask, is Blanket Surfing? It is all the rage in our house hold. Step One: Boo Boo grabs our very large, soft, white blanket from its spot. Step Two: BooBoo drags/carries it to her Daddy. Step Three: BooBoo unfolds the blanket as best as she can and plops her bottom down on a corner. Step Four: BooBoo looks at Daddy, points, and "tells" him it is time to go! Step Five: Daddy takes the other ends and drags the blanket with her all over the house. People, the kid could do this all day! It is so fun to watch her enjoy surfing.
Dancing is more elaborate-Since first mentioning her love for dancing, Little Bit's actual dance moves have become more elaborate. Now she incorporates her arms by alternating them in the up/down position, and together as she beats to the rhythm of the song. She twirls round and round. And lately she has this tap dance move she does with her feet. It is the absolute cutest thing to witness. Of course her taste in music is still the old country songs.
A Big Helper-Little Miss Sunshine continues to find joy in helping around the house. Whether it is sweeping to vacuuming, she just loves to be involved. Her favorite task is sweeping. In fact, if she sees you sweeping, she will RUN over, grab the broom from you, and begin sweeping by herself. It will be interesting to see how she decides to help with Brother. Let me also inform you, this child is her Father's daughter. EVERYTHING has its own place. Everything belongs back in its original place. If you do not put it back where it was originally, she will do so for you. Watching her develop and her personality has really helped me understand her father's mentality too. :)
New Reading Time-Boo Bear has finally become interested in books. Our reading time is a little different than others that I know. Our reading time is directly after any and all meals. She has her favorite 5 books that will be read throughout the day. But, we still have a hard time finishing a story front to back...and she has a tendency to want to rip the pages out as you read. And this too shall pass...But at least we have an interest in reading! yay!
Today, she fed the cats all by herself! Not all of the food made it to the dish, but hey, it is the thought and the actions that count. Normal animal care schedule
Still not say many words-"Gate, Bye, and What" have been the 3 words we have clearly understood of late. She does not speak many words, but she most definitely talks...it is just her own little babble language. However, today she said 2 of the 3 words. She was standing by the baby gate and out of the blue says "Gate." Right before Daddy took her for bedtime, she waved goodnight to me, walked away, and said "Bye." A week ago was when she said "What"....what was so funny was that it sounds just like the way Mama Bear says it! Oh goodness...hahah!
the Best Snuggler in the world-She continues to be the absolute best cuddler in the world. Both Mama and Daddy are super spoiled because she is such a snuggle bunny. So Sweet!
Dinner time is self sufficient...at least to Boo Boo-Apparently we are entering a new phase of Toddler-isms. One of the biggies is self sufficiency and boy does she have this one on lock down. She is learning to feed herself with utensils. Now that she thinks she's got the hang of it, every meal should be done her way. If she is unable to feed herself, she promptly informs you that is unacceptable and sometimes refuses to eat! Crazy kid.
So, I think this catches you up to our current status. Hopefully I will be a little better at updating in a more timely manner. But, with a brand new baby, only time will tell! :)
Love you all
~Mama Bear
