Cant believe I forgot

The cutest thing I forgot to mention today has been ab out her bike.  Great Aunt Angie bought Little Bit her 1st bike when she was born.  So, Daddy placed it in the attic to keep it safe...Yesterday we had to empty the attic and down came the bike.  Needless to say, she has been obsessed with it since.  She and her Daddy even take mini rides throughout the house.  It has been so much fun watching her with the bike.  Here is the picture my sister took this morning.

New Stuff going on!

Well, Little Bit is starting to say a few more words every now and again.  Recently she has been telling everyone Bye or Bye-Bye while she waves them out the door.  We have heard "Gate" and "Up" occasionally.  Funny story about Mama and Daddy-the other night we were hanging with Auntie A. talking and what-not when Little One jibberjabbered...We swear it sounded just like "Everyone look at me"....it was the funniest thing ever.  However, if you are not her parent, it probably sounded like "blahbe da deede."  Ha!  Regardless, she still speaks her own language even though it is OBVIOUS she knows exactly what we mean when we talk to her.

As she grows she resembles her daddy more and more.  Not necessarily looks wise, but personality wise.  Everything has its own place and must return to its spot.  She knows where the trashcans are in each room and knows that her dirty diaper goes into one of them.  She has to try to accomplish her own objective before she goes to the next thing and does NOT like anyone's help...She is a Big Girl and can do it herself!  She is the best helper ever and loves to help us around the house.

Let me just say, Little Bit LOVES LOVES LOVES her little brother.  She has to say hi to him first every morning (by waving to him)...he receives kisses before Mama...and she has to point/poke every body part and have Mama name them, including the eyeballs.  She loves to run check on him when she hears him wake up, then steals his blanket right off of him!  haha.  Lately she has been wanting to hold him on her lap, so Brother is ever so gently placed on her lap so she can hold him herself.  Let  me just say, this is a real thrill for her.  Once she is done she practically shoves him off her lap.  haha!  Yes, yes, Mama doesn't ever leave their sides and always catches little Brother.

The past month Little Bit has taken a real interest in books and reading.  I might have mentioned this in an earlier post so please forgive me.  Generally our reading consists of finding her favorite pages and pointing to the pictures, then slamming the book closed.  If we get 2 pages read, it is a major feat!  Today is a momentous occasion...Daddy was able to read an entire story ("Miss Spider's Tea Party" by David Kirk) from front to end without her ripping pages, closing the book early, or interrupting at all.  In fact, she sat quietly next to him and listened to the entire book.  Let me just say, MAJOR event in our household!

Love you all!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Little Bit is officially a Big Sister

Our dear loved ones,
Please forgive our tardiness in keeping you updated on Boo Bear's grand adventure in this life.  Mama Bear has had hardly a minute to even think, much less update our current status.  Let me try to catch up to date...it may even have to start backwards!

First and Foremost,  our precious Angel is officially a Big Sister!!!  Little Brother came this month and we have only been home from the hospital for a day or so.  Needless to say, we all are adjusting to the newness of Brother.  Firecracker seems to think that she is in charge of swinging him while he is in the swing.  Also, she the official bassinet pusher as she pushes his bassinet all over the house to help Mommy.  It is a good thing we decided to purchase a new swing just for Brother because she can swing in her own swing without being upset.  She doesn't quite understand WHY she can't hold brother or why Mama and Daddy keep telling her to "be gentle" or "no touchy" or "be sweet"...Sheesh, can't they tell I am? haha!  One of the biggest issues is that Mama cannot pick up Boo Boo for 6 weeks because of the C section.  Both Mama and Baby are sad...we love to snuggle.

Still Running-of course in the last month she has not slowed down one bit.  In fact, it is safe to say she is actually getting faster!  She can almost outrun her Daddy!  Mama calls her Faster than Lightning McQueen.  The day before Brother came, we all went to the park to play one last time as the three of us.  That Girl ran her daddy to death!  She also decided she was big enough that she could go down the slides at the park by herself.  In fact, she decided that it was more effective to run down the slide by herself!!!  About the scared the pee out of Mommy!!!

Pulls around her wagon-For her birthday Daddy had bought BooBear a wagon filled with building blocks.  Since then, her games with them have evolved.  Then, it was learning to throw all of the blocks out of the wagon.  Next, throw them out and put them back in.  Now, either place Dollie and Mickey in the wagon to haul them around the house, or dump them out and get in herself so Daddy can haul her around the house.  Mind you, the wagon is actually a decent size that may be difficult for many to maneuver, but not BooBoo...she is strong as an ox!  I have to say, even though I am definitely a bias mother, she truly is more athletically inclined.  She is super strong, very capable of lifting heavy items, and maneuvering large objects.  It is pretty incredible to witness.

Loves blanket surfing-What, may you ask, is Blanket Surfing?  It is all the rage in our house hold.  Step One:  Boo Boo grabs our very large, soft, white blanket from its spot.  Step Two: BooBoo drags/carries it to her Daddy.  Step Three:  BooBoo unfolds the blanket as best as she can and plops her bottom down on a corner.  Step Four:  BooBoo looks at Daddy, points, and "tells" him it is time to go!  Step Five:  Daddy takes the other ends and drags the blanket with her all over the house.  People, the kid could do this all day!  It is so fun to watch her enjoy surfing.

Dancing is more elaborate-Since first mentioning her love for dancing, Little Bit's actual dance moves have become more elaborate.  Now she incorporates her arms by alternating them in the up/down position, and together as she beats to the rhythm of the song.  She twirls round and round.  And lately she has this tap dance move she does with her feet.  It is the absolute cutest thing to witness.  Of course her taste in music is still the old country songs.

A Big Helper-Little Miss Sunshine continues to find joy in helping around the house.  Whether it is sweeping to vacuuming, she just loves to be involved.  Her favorite task is sweeping. In fact, if she sees you sweeping, she will RUN over, grab the broom from you, and begin sweeping by herself.  It will be interesting to see how she decides to help with Brother.  Let me also inform you, this child is her Father's daughter.  EVERYTHING has its own place.  Everything belongs back in its original place.  If you do not put it back where it was originally, she will do so for you.  Watching her develop and her personality has really helped me understand her father's mentality too.  :)

New Reading Time-Boo Bear has finally become interested in books.  Our reading time is a little different than others that I know.  Our reading time is directly after any and all meals.  She has her favorite 5 books that will be read throughout the day.  But, we still have a hard time finishing a story front to back...and she has a tendency to want to rip the pages out as you read.  And this too shall pass...But at least we have an interest in reading!  yay!

Today, she fed the cats all by herself!  Not all of the food made it to the dish, but hey, it is the thought and the actions that count.  Normal animal care schedule

Still not say many words-"Gate, Bye, and What" have been the 3 words we have clearly understood of late.  She does not speak many words, but she most definitely talks...it is just her own little babble language.  However, today she said 2 of the 3 words.  She was standing by the baby gate and out of the blue says "Gate."  Right before Daddy took her for bedtime, she waved goodnight to me, walked away, and said "Bye."  A week ago was when she said "What"....what was so funny was that it sounds just like the way Mama Bear says it!  Oh goodness...hahah!

the Best Snuggler in the world-She continues to be the absolute best cuddler in the world.  Both Mama and Daddy are super spoiled because she is such a snuggle bunny.  So Sweet!

Dinner time is self sufficient...at least to Boo Boo-Apparently we are entering a new phase of Toddler-isms.  One of the biggies is self sufficiency and boy does she have this one on lock down.  She is learning to feed herself with utensils.  Now that she thinks she's got the hang of it, every meal should be done her way.  If she is unable to feed herself, she promptly informs you that is unacceptable and sometimes refuses to eat!  Crazy kid.

So, I think this catches you up to our current status.  Hopefully I will be a little better at updating in a more timely manner.  But, with a brand new baby, only time will tell!  :)

Love you all

Crazy Kid

This kid is the funniest, craziest daredevil I have ever known!  She has no fear.  She is demanding her autonomy in a BIG way.  She has decided she likes her "old" baby swing again.  So, with reckless abandonment, she climbs into all by herself, rocks her body so she is swinging, and gets down out of it.  What am I going to do when baby brother gets here?  ha!  Little Bit also has sooo much energy... it almost isn't fair how much they have when Mommy hardly has any now.

I can officially call her my little Vampire Baby.  haha!  She has her bottom 2 teeth (which she has had for a while now), but the next two that have come in are her 2 top eye teeth.  So when she smiles, it looks like a little vampire!  It is rediculously cute too.  Hopefully I'll be able to capture a good photo of them and post them for you.

My little dancer also found a new genre of music that she LOVES and dances to all the time.  Daddy Bear set up a Hank Williams station for our Pandora.  We played it on the big stereo and as soon as she heard it she started dancing.  It is WAY toooooo cute!!!  I really need to sneak up on her and video it for you to see.

We love you all,

1 year old

It is so hard to believe the day finally came...my little girl turned 1 year old this weekend.  Where on earth did the time go?  One minute we are rolling over, the next we are walking around the house with a trash can!  This past year has been one of the most exciting, fun-filled adventures of my life.  So, with that I will leave my little toddler a note...

My Little Bird,

You are the most precious miracle of my life.  It is an honor to be your Mommy.  I have enjoyed every single minute with you.  Through all the "firsts" and definately not "lasts", we have established an incredible bond.  Your Big Blue eyes and ready smile are always the highlight of my life.  I still can't get over how funny you are!  And how intelligent you are and how much you love to work hard for what you want.  You are truly your Daddy's girl with your helping spirit.  You are such a good helper!  It doesn't matter the chore, dishes or laundry, you love being near us and lending a helping hand.  While you are a very determined and strongwilled person, you are also a very sweet, nurturing, giving little lady.  Everyday, in all different situations, I learn more and more about who you are.

I am so very blessed to have you as my daughter.  I can't wait for all the stuff we can do together and all the wonderful moments ahead.  I pray everyday for you.  I hope to set an example of a worthy woman of God for you...I do not promise to be perfect, but I will always look out for you, love you, comfort you, nurture you, push you, hold you, listen to you, and much more.

My little Bird,  I love you forever and always...

Your Mommy

We have a Walker

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Our little girl is no longer a baby...she is now entering the Toddler stage.  She has been walking exclusively since a week before her 11mth bday.  She no longer falls and reverts to crawling...she falls and picks herself back up to a standing position.  ***sigh***  Where did the time go?  How is this possible?  It just doesn't seem like she should even be able to  be a little person...But, Daddy and Mama both love each new stage, each new discovery, each new little thing.  She is the pride and joy of our lives.  We can't wait to bring little brother into our lives either.  xoxo

It is time...

Let me begin with a fun new diddy Little Lady has learned how to do!  She will now give a High Five!  She continues to clap daily and now will give High Fives on request.  It is soooo cute!

Well, Daddy and I agreed that today would be the day.  We are officially saying Little Bit is walking.  She doesn't walk everywhere, but she is working her way there.  She is much more confident and trusting herself to walk to where she wants to go.  It is a bit bittersweet because this is one of the turning points from the end of her "baby" days and the start of toddler days...What happened to the last year?  Has it really been a year?  I can't believe it...sheesh!

Lastly,  I reckon it is ok to say now Little Bit is going to be the big sister to a Baby Brother!  :)  Oh what fun!

Much Love Family and Friends!
